The girls and I had a visitor for dinner last night. Their Aunt Sue wanted to come join us for some quiet time before the wedding. It was a wonderful evening filled with stories, a craft project, and good friends.
This was Sue’s first time out to the farm. The girls enjoyed showing her around and highlighted all of their favorite spots – play house, barn, garden, pond, house.
While out on our guided tour, we noticed that the raspberries in the back garden were getting ripe. After the tour, and while I was getting dinner ready, the three of them went back out on a berry picking expedition. They didn’t come back empty-handed, that’s for sure.
One giant, heaping bowl of raspberries joined our strawberries, blackberries and blueberries I picked up locally for a fantastic berry salad. Yum! It is the perfect taste of summer – berries sweeter than sweet, fresher than fresh.
And I didn’t notice any berry juice on the girls clothes.
God is good.
PS – if you’re wondering why Zoe has that look on her face, I told her to say “Disney World” instead of “cheese.”
