Hanging with the holy rollers

OK, the group I hung out with this weekend aren’t really holy rollers. I just had that impression of this group about 8 years ago, which was the year before I joined them. Now, I know that they are an amazing group of mothers who have a strong faith and the same craziness and kid issues as everyone else. They’re my go-to resource for answers on parenting, faith, and (lately) dog issues.Sarah Hart

Every February, we take about 21 hours for ourselves and have a retreat at a local lodge. Getting away for half a weekend can be just what I need to recharge my battery for the rest of the year.

For the last few retreats, we’ve had outside speakers come in to facilitate the weekend. This year we had a singer/song writer join us. Sarah Hart was fantastic. Her sense of humor was perfect for our group. That, combined with a wonderful perspective and strong faith, made it a great retreat.

Having 21 hours of not worrying about dogs, mules, kids, and cowboys…now that made it a relaxing slice of heaven.
